Jan 31, 2020: RVer reports that Overnight RV Parking is Permitted, confirming multiple reports from Apr 2019 & earlier, & info provided by TX DOT. The State of Texas allows parking for up to 24 hours in Roadside Picnic Areas unless there is signage to the contrary. Signage here confirms the 24-hour limit. This rest area has entrances on both highways, and internal loop drives, with room for several RVs. Picnic tables, trash barrels; toilets. Multiple RVers report low branches: Branches are ~ 11 ft 6 in off roadway; Spanish moss hangs down to ~ 9 ft 6in off roadway. They recommend this location only for RVs that will fit below these obstructions. RVer also recommends arriving before dusk, for visibility when parking, and also having an alternate location in mind.
